சாக்கிய மக்கள் தமிழர்/ திராவிடர்/ ஹிந்து  என்பதின் பகுதியோ பிரிவோ அல்ல என்பதின் அடிப்படையில் அமைந்ததே  தலித் அரசியல். இந்திய மற்றும் தமிழ்  தேசிய அரசியலில்  சாக்கியர்கள், தனித்துவம் தனிநிலை உடைய தனி  குழிவினர். இந்துக்களுக்கு அல்லது  தமிழர்களுக்கு சமமான அனைத்து அரசியல் உரிமைகளையும் பெறுவதற்கு சாக்கியர்கள் முழு தகுதியானவர்கள்   என்பதே தலித் அரசியல். இதை விடுத்து நம்மை இந்து மதத்தில் இணைக்க பாடுபடுபவர்கள் திரவிடத்தில் இணைக்க பாடுபடுபவர்கள் தமிழ் தேசியத்தில் இணைக்க பாடுபடுபடுபவர்கள் எல்லாம் தங்கள் அற்ப அரசியல் பிழைப்புக்கு தலித் அரசியலை பயன் படுத்திக்கொள்கிறார்களே ஒழிய. அவர்கள் நமது முன்னேற்றத்திற்கும் விடுதலைக்கும் பாடுபடவில்லை.
அண்ணல் அம்பேத்கரின் அரசியல் என்பது முழுமையான தலித் அரசியல், அண்ணல் சொல்கிறார், "Let me begin by telling you what has been the key note of my politics. You may be familiar with it but it is well to restate it. My basis of my politics lies in the proposition that the untouchables are not sub head or sub section of the Hindus, and that they are a separate and a distinct elements in the national life of India, as separate and distinct as the Muslims and like the Muslims of India, the Untouchables are entitled separate political rights as against the Hindus of India. This is the keynote of my politics. No one will misunderstand me or my politics if he bears that in mind." Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
